The Association Campagnes Vivantes and Le Concorde cinema invite you to a film screening and discussion on Friday 30 January at 8pm. On the programme: a screening of the documentary ‘Bocage, nos haies communes’ (Hedgerows, our shared hedges) by Arthur Rifflet (2022), followed by a discussion with Jaime Jimenez from Paysages de Mares Haies et d’Arbres. This discussion will give the audience an understanding of local biodiversity issues and the importance of rural trees in our regions.
Hedges are one of the last bastions of plant and animal biodiversity. They form a landscape typical of western France: the bocage. Subject to the pressures of intensive agriculture and massive urbanisation, the bocage is now under threat and hedges continue to disappear, silently? What if hedges became a common good?
Arthur Rifflet is a documentary film writer and director. Between science and society, he is interested in contemporary scientific controversies and ecological issues. Geoengineering, the environment, agriculture, food: his films spark debate and question the world of today and tomorrow.
