Did you know it’s possible to run a marathon in 42 minutes? Valentin Mériot proves it in this breathless and absurd solo performance where running becomes rhythm and music, and strides become dance steps.
Valentin Mériot loves algebra and dance. He loves counting beats and pulses. He would have liked to run a marathon. The major obstacle: he doesn’t run—he dances. After some clever calculations, converting the many kilometers to be covered into minutes and seconds, a world of possibilities opens up to him. With running shoes on his feet, he dashes off and prances, refuels, eats, and drinks to push his limits…

With this intensely choreographic piece, Valentin Mériot brilliantly confronts our relationship with time, sports, and performance, and questions the absurdity of our consumer society.
