Have you always wanted to experience life in a castle? Your dream will come true on the Terrides Trail, where you can step into the shoes of a lord or a duchess for a day! You’ll be running right around Terrides Castle in a truly regal setting. Starting from Garganvillar, you’ll traverse Occitan lands, lulled by the region’s sweet, melodious accent.
Nature and historical heritage will be your main running companions. The castle, built during the 14th century, will be with you every step of the way. That’s because the race takes place almost exclusively within the 100-hectare castle grounds, overlooking the Gimone Valley. It’s the perfect setting to enjoy a landscape steeped in history where nature has reclaimed its place since medieval times. You’ll run on trails winding through unspoiled nature. In addition to a race with a rustic charm, you’ll enjoy an atmosphere worthy of a small Occitan village proud of its roots. The prizes will consist exclusively of local products, highlighting the artisans who bring life to the village and the surrounding areas.
Generous prizes: local specialties for the first 200 registrants. If you finish in the top 3 overall or first in your category, you’ll win a selection of local specialties. The first-place male and female finishers in the 22km race will receive a cash prize based on the number of participants (minimum €50) and local specialties. For the 13 km race, the rule is simple: as soon as the race starts, you must be the first to cross the 1-kilometer mark to win a ham. If you finish in the top 10 of the 22 km race, you’ll be entered into a drawing for two €100 gift cards. To reward the brave souls tackling the 22 km race, all participants—men and women alike—are automatically entered into a final drawing for two €100 gift cards from Rrunning Montauban.
On the post-race menu: an éclade, mussels cooked traditionally over straw. If shellfish and seafood aren’t your thing, you can also enjoy some artisanal sausage. The meal will be served with flageolet beans, dessert, and a cold beer.
