A CHANGER

Castelsarrasin
The town of the four convents

espace firmin bouisset

Born in a mill, in Moissac, on the banks of the Tarn, Firmin Bouisset, the father of these timeless icons marked, more than any other, at the turn of the 19th and 20th century, the real shift from advertising to modern advertising.

A few kilometers from his place of birth, this spot dedicated to his work opened in July 2021 in Castelsarrasin, in this handsome house called "House of Spain" restored for the occasion.

Graphic designer, lithographer, illustrator, Firmin Bouisset’s palette is large. But it is his talent as a poster artist that will make him pass on to posterity. More than he would have imagined. Who could indeed have thought, in a world where advertising images wear out and overwhelm us, that these characters would continue a century after their creation to embody better than anyone the image of childhood.

Come and discover the universe of the "Petit Lu"

Sub-prefecture of 14,000 inhabitants, the town boasts 4 bodies of water, superb sites and buildings, cultural and sport facilities which makes it a worthwhile place to visit and relax.

Its market fills the streets with local products every Thursday morning, making Castelsarrasin a beacon of French gastronomy. Labelled "Towns and Villages in Bloom" , animated throughout the year, the city is crossed by the canal of the two seas and the Bicycle Green Way and is a must-visit tourist stop in the Tarn-et-Garonne. Its marina “Jacques-Yves Cousteau” is ideally located, close to the city centre and all amenities.

Within the Tourist Information Desk, the harbour master offers free WIFI access all year round and a small “Bike” service.
