Description
De création très ancienne, située sur les chemins de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, Boudou connut un essor particulier grâce à son rattachement à l'Abbaye de Moissac au XIIIème siècle.
The village is a very ancient creation, located on the road to Santiago de Compostela, Boudou experienced a particular boom thanks to its attachment to the Abbey of Moissac in the 13th century.Raymond de Montpezat had a hospital built there for the pilgrims at a place called "La Pointe", a hospital whose disappearance can not be dated.Bertrand de Montaigu, Abbot of Moissac, built a castle now disappeared. He died in 1295.You can discover the heart of the village, the Church of St. Peter Boudou, with its bell tower, its raised and fluted font, paintings of the 18th century and recently restored votive recalling the importance of the fluvial transport for the town, medieval wells, its 18th century cadast exposed in the town hall.
