Description

Beaucaire Island is a beautiful but fragile place. Classified as a sensitive natural site since 1995, the place attracts nature lovers and walkers.
We can see many odonates (dragonflies), kingfishers, water hens, herons... But also a rich flora including aquatic flowers From all natural sites moissagais, it is of course on the island Beaucaire that the arrival of spring is most felt. This 1.5 hectare piece of land that surrounds a dead branch of the Tarn of 0.5 ha has become since 1995, a nursery for many aquatic species and birds. Sensitive natural area (ENS), since then, this distinction that highlighted the site's high biological and landscape interest has been replaced by the classification as a Natura 2000 zone since June 2006.
