Between Moissac and Lafrançaise, in a bend of the Tarn, is the little village of Lizac.
Between plain and hills : fruit trees, golden chasselas grapes and cereals make up the scenery. The etymology of Lizac comes from the meaning silt deposit which makes its soil, often flooded by the river Tarn, fertile and rich. The 1930s flood caused much damage and help for the reconstruction came from the region of Alsace and is noticeable in the style of the school and the old cafe and grocery shop.
