Montesquieu is 12km to the north of Moissac.
A bucolic scenery of glens criss-crossed by brooks which flow into the river Barguelone. The hills are used for livestock and polyculture. The commune is part of the land labelled AOP Chasselas.
There is a high rate of forestation, mainly oaks. In that environment numerous animal species are to be found, mammals : deer, boar, squirrel, hedgehog …, and birdlife : buzzard, woodpecker…, and insects : dragonflies, butterflies, stag beetles...
